Connect the evidence. Make the next call.
Engineering decisions depend on more than a model or a measurement. PlexMesh is being designed to bring digital predictions, physical evidence and the people responsible for the decision into one shared context.
01World / Method / Outcome
(P³)³ = P⁹
A framework for what to connect, how to investigate and what a useful next step should aim for. Each row offers three prompts for the same engineering question.
Highlights this column and its curve in Fig. 01.
| World | Models, design files, tool outputs and their assumptions. | Measurements, operating conditions and the gap from prediction. | The context, ownership and judgment behind the next decision. |
|---|---|---|---|
| Method | Predict State the expected result and the conditions that support it. | Probe Choose a check that can challenge the prediction and explain the gap. | Pick Use the evidence to choose the next action and name its owner. |
| Outcome | Precise Aim for a question, comparison and next step with clear boundaries. | Proven Aim for a call supported by inspectable evidence and stated limits. | Prompt Aim to surface the next useful action while keeping uncertainty visible. |
Precise, Proven and Prompt are design aims, not measured performance claims. This framework describes the intended workflow.
02A repeatable loop
Carry the learning into the next decision.
Start with one engineering question. Keep its prediction, measurement and decision connected as the investigation moves between tools and teams.
Highlights its trace in Fig. 02.
Record what the model expects, the inputs it uses and the conditions that could change the result.
Bring in the measurement with its test conditions. Describe where it agrees, where it differs and what remains unknown.
Explain the call, assign an owner and preserve the evidence and assumptions for the next team. Use the next result to revisit the prediction.
Illustrative convergence plot. For each loop from n to n+6, Δ is each source’s deviation from agreement. The Pixel, Physics and People traces start apart and settle into a tolerance band of plus or minus ε: Pixel soonest, then Physics, then People. At loop n+5 all three are within the band, |Δ| ≤ ε, and the call is made. Use the loop cursor below to read each loop.
The home page walks one call through this loop, on Board X · rev B (example).
03Optional feature
Signing, when the handoff calls for it.
Signing is an optional feature in the intended workflow. A team could use it to record a review or acknowledge a handoff when its process requires that step.
The central work remains connecting the evidence, understanding the gap and deciding what to do next.
